Many of the management leadership training programs I've seen appear to me to be very confused, at least from my perspective as I read their brochures and the objectives they announce as a result of participating in their management leadership training programs.

Often these management leadership training programs are described to appeal to companies with clear lines of demarcation between line and staff employees.

Before beginning a management leadership training process it's important to determine exactly where you want to be at the conclusion of the program. If you have investigated the various offerings available to your organization you know that management leadership training comes in various forms from outside experts to internal trainers to public seminars to DVDs.

What makes a successful real estate agent? The top agents treat the whole process of selling real estate as a numbers game. They have developed systems or formulas that work and applied them to all transactions to achieve predictable and consistent results. Improved efficiencies and greater throughput then lead to more sales and greater revenue. It is not really a question of natural ability or a sixth sense, most aspects can be learnt given the right attitude.

So it's December and the year is almost over. The manager and top brass are talking about 2009 and the numbers that have to be met. Add to that the economic issues and the challenges that come with them.

Yep, they want even more from you than last year and you set records!

How are you going to continue exceeding your last year's performance with all the challenges?

Perhaps the answer can be found with coaching advice for managers and leaders! What tools and focus can they be applying to help the sales force exceed their current levels.

Positive feedback must be the most easy to use and effective means of improving performance ever! It involves little more than catching people performing well and complimenting them on it. You must be sincere, and the more specific you are in describing exactly what the person has done, the better. Beyond that, it is hard to go wrong. One would think that every manager would be using it, every day!

But no! What one hears in corporate corridors is criticism, blame and accusation; there are put-downs and raised voices; we even produce printouts and reports to show the detail of exactly how and where people go wrong.

We all have a tendency to map things out in our heads and together with some rough calculations on the back of an envelope, we quickly convince ourselves that it is all possible. In practice, we tend to gloss over the less attractive details. Consequently, many people dive straight in and start a business without the necessary planning, which often results in a false start costing the owners money and time.

In the United States, the average firm only achieves about 63% of its strategic plan. Based on studies conducted by McKinsey, the Harvard Business School and others, 90% of strategies that fail do so because of lack of execution. Without a clear implementation strategy, even excellent business plans hardly stand a chance.

Research in the last several years has pinpointed many reasons why business plans fail.

Oh, cried Chicken Little, the sky is falling. I must go tell the king. I saw it with my eyes, I heard it with my ears, and a bit of it fell on my head, said Chicken Little.

That old fable is being resurrected daily in this day of bail-outs and corporate chop busting. As a result, many of the down-sized may consider entrepreneurship. I urge caution in any rush to open your own stand.

Business excellence is an ideal that all good entrepreneurs strive to achieve. In fact, many organizations are devoted to honoring those businesses that best exemplify this concept. However, business excellence cannot be strictly defined.Rather, it varies from one industry to another. For example, in the automotive industry, business excellence includes customer commitment, quality control, efficient supply, and innovative management.

If you have ever played a sport, you know the importance of a good coach.

A coach motivates everyone to do their personal best for themselves and the team and creates accountability (you do show up for practice!).

Most people agree that you and the team would not achieve maximum results without a good coach.
A Business Coach works with you to develop and achieve personal and/or professional goals.
